LEAD TEACHER- Infant, Young Toddler, Toddler, Preschool classrooms
Essential Functions
Full-time and year-round school schedule with quarterly breaks.
Work with supervisor to implement curriculum within the established guidelines.
Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans from the approved curriculum.
Engage, develop and ensure the safety of the children.
Oversee and lead all activities in the classroom.
Conduct family conferences and maintain communication with families.
Maintain program site and equipment.
Onboard, train, develop, and provide work direction to team members.
Provide work direction to team members while on duty and assist in training.
Assist with annual performance reviews and applicant interviews within the childcare program.
May support the Asst. Director/Program Director in providing daily leadership and communication to team members and families.
Maintain required program records and children's files.
Maintain licensing/NAEYC accreditation requirements.
Maintain Iowa Department of Health Licensing for meals and snacks.
Attend monthly team member meetings.
Attend all required professional development days.
Collaborate with all classroom leads and attend PLC meetings.
Maintain professional online presence.

Requirements
Qualifications - Required
Minimum of 18 years of age
Adult and child CPR, First Aid Certifications, Universal Precautions, and Essentials Training within 30 days of hire.
Commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.
Ability to plan, organize and implement program activities.
Excellent skills in teaching, communication, and human relations.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Qualifications - Preferred
Meet Iowa CDA Teacher qualifications, including yearly in service requirements OR willing to obtain credential
Work experience in ECE classroom
Meet NAEYC accreditation requirements
AA Degree in Early Childhood Education
Previous work experience leading programming for children
Knowledge in HighScope curriculum, Reggio Emilia approach philosophy and Responsive Classroom.
Work Conditions
Preform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, Reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, feeding, and getting in or out of transportation.
