Kristen Miner, Founder & Executive Learning Director

Kristen’s passion for teaching and learning started early. As a young girl she couldn’t put books down and played make-believe school with her friends. Little did she know those childhood dreams would become a reality years later. Kristen graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, earning her BA in Elementary Education with an endorsement in K-12 Reading.  After graduation, she taught first grade in the Johnston Public Schools for seven years.

Kristen’s dedication to her students’ growth fueled her to think and teach outside the box, establishing herself as a leading thinker within the district. Her continued curiosity in innovative teaching strategies led her to earn her MA in Education Leadership from Drake University.

Her personal journey has lead to opening The Voyage-Early Learning Journey to impact young learners on a larger scale than the classroom allows. She strongly believes that learning is a journey that starts at birth. She hopes she will have the privilege of your child’s first steps in their learning voyage.
